Blogospheric activity (Friday 25 August 2006)

If you haven't noticed, I've been playing around with the layout and feel of my blogs. I owe much to this post, over at the Mannequin Snow blog, for inspiration. Please bear with me as some of these adjustments, such as adding labels to every post, are in various stages of being completed. If you have any comments, suggestions, constructive criticism ...

I posted a bit here and there on all my blogs this week (s
ee below for a complete listing of all of this week's posts) and even started work on a couple of other blogs that may soon find their way to the blogosphere.

Have a great weekend,
Tiki Chris

Below is information about the four blogs that I administer: ontoLondon, ontoTravel, Rapa Nui News, and Tiki Chris. Each Friday, I hope to provide a weekly review of what I've posted. If a particular blog interests you, keep in mind that I’ve been blogging since well before this past week. You may want to take a look through the archives of any blog that interests you. Thanks.

like the floral header, reminds me of a shirt...a familiar fact, wait! did you scan your shirt? However it does take a handfull of moments to come up on the screen; perhaps a lower resolution??
all the best

I noticed you have a label for Trader Vic's, there is one here in atlanta, in the basement of the marriot. I've only been there once, and I ordered a mai tai, which I loved. Supposedly they invented the drink (I think). What do you think of their mai tai?

m. snow,

Sorry it took so long to respond. I went away for a long weekend (expect a post about my trip soon).

With respect to your question,
I ♥ Trader Vic's ... and Trader Vic's Mai Tais! Generally, it's next to impossible to get a proper Mai Tai, but odds are the Vic's in ATL does it right. Ironically, I've never been to the Atlanta Trader Vic's, but I've been to a number of others (the one here in London is a dream come true) and have never been disappointed with their cocktails.

I am of the camp that believes Victor J. "Trader Vic" Bergeron was the inventor of the Mai Tai (visit for more info). However, there are those who choose to believe that Donn Beach (aka "Don the Beachcomber") was the drink's creator.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, that is a scan of one of my aloha shirts. Thanks for noticing. I'll look into whether a lower rez banner will look better.

Hope you're well,
