Shanghai Graffiti Photos (Juxtapoz)

Generally speaking, graffiti in Shanghai is an extremely rare sight. Buildings come and go at such a rapid pace that, even if an intrepid artist had touched up a particular wall, there's a good chance that said wall would have been demolished soon after ... The exception to this rule is Moganshan Road, where you can hardly take a step without spotting some graff. The area around Moganshan Road is Shanghai's art district where, luckily, the art isn't just confined to the galleries and shops.

Hi. You took some flix of my peices on moganshan road. A friend contacted me and told me about it so I had to check it out. Nicely put, good small article that sums it up mostly. It's true that you don't really see much graffiti going on in the streets even if their has been quite a bit done, (must have noticed the numbers scrawling about, because of those almost every graffiti gets buffed in less then a week.) It's hard to catch spots that stay up, even more now that the olympics is comming ... slight paranoia on their side now. Anyhow just wanted to comment on your article, nicely done.

I am Jacobé, and my friend and I are creating a magasine called Ghettoblaster which is about , between others, street art. This magasine is going to be published in France, our country...
As i'm in Shanghai this summer to work in an art gallery we would like to talk about this growing-up city... And I am looking for some people to meet in Shanghai to talk about graffiti in the town or to show me some cool places...
If you are a part of what I am looking for just send me an e-mail... (jacobe-huet@live.fr)
Thank you.
